Blogger (Blogspot) is the one of the most used and popular free blogging platform. Every bloggers knows that in the new Blogger interface the search preferences section is added recently. But many bloggers don’t know the method to add meta description to blogger. Meta tags are important for search engine optimization. Meta description (site related) will be used by search engines. Meta description will appear in SERP. By default in blogger Meta Description is disable so we’ll need to enable it. Blogspot is not top lebel domain, it is free blogging platform. Meta description is easy to use, just follow below step.
How to Enable Search Description or Meta Tags
Step 1 : Go To Blogger >> Settings >> Search Preferences
Step 2 : Look For Meta Tags Section and Check “Yes” to Enable It.
Step 3 : Now a box will appear where you have to write your meta description. Enter your blog description under 160 characters but above 85 characters (include space).
Step 4 : Now click on Save changes
Sometimes custom blogger templates does not work with these meta tags but if you are using blogger default template then it is fine work. Don’t worry just follow below instruction.
Step 1 : Go To Blogger Blog >> Template >> Edit HTML
Step 2 : Find <head> with the help of (Ctrl + F)
Step 3 : Paste below Code in <head> section
